Curriculum

Our curriculum is shaped by the 16 to 19 study programmes guidance. We offer a choice of substantial Level 3 qualifications across our three Post 16 pathways that cover a broad range of academic, creative and vocational subjects. These will stretch and challenge our students and prepare them for progression to competitive universities, apprenticeships, or employment.  There is also the opportunity, as part of our pathways system, to retake GCSE Maths and English Language as well as studying community languages to A-level. The course offers and combinations are always under review, as such our curriculum offer is also bespoke to the year group it serves.

Students can select an A Level only pathway, a Level 3 BTEC only pathway or a combination depending on outcomes at Key Stage 4. Students can also opt to complete the Extended Project Qualification as an additional opportunity in Year 12 via the dissertation route. This sits alongside the broader non qualification activities we offer here at Coloma to develop students' character, broader skills, attitudes and confidence of: Core RE, Core PE and PSHE which form an integral part of our enrichment for all students and supports their progression.  Complementing and included in our offer is work experience in Year 12 and a strong commitment to personal development that works towards ensuring students can develop their career choices and apply their skills in real working conditions.
