The purpose of this statement is to set out how Coloma Sixth Form will use its 16 - 19 tuition fund allocation to support students who have been academically disadvantaged due to Coronavirus.
What is the 16 - 19 tuition fund?
The 16-19 tuition fund is an additional, one off allocation of funding for the 2023/24 academic year that is ring fenced for the Sixth Form to mitigate disruption to learning arising from the Covid-19 pandemic for key groups of eligible students.
How will Coloma Sixth Form use the funding?
Coloma Sixth Form has committed to utilise the funding to provide additional support to key groups of students to ensure maxim success across the Class of 2024 and Class of 2025:
For eligible students on STEM subjects:
We have partnered with Uplearn for single year and multi year memberships on qualifying subjects.
For eligible students outside of STEM subjects:
We have partnered with Elevate Education to deliver small group teaching across their programs of:
Study Sensei
Ace Your Exams
Finishing Line
In terms of commitments: Uplearn is a self guided resource and allows students to access support at their own pace. The Elevate Education intervention sessions will take place in addition to the normal timetabled hours for eligible students.
This statement is in line with the Government guidance and we have published this statement to demonstrate how this additional funding will be utilised in the academic year 2023/24. This document may be updated to reflect any changes in ESFA guidance.
The impact of these resources and sessions will be monitored based on student performance and progress in their courses and their preparation for and confidence in applying to future destinations, including higher education, employment and apprenticeships.
