Choosing where to study for the final years of your secondary education is an important decision. At Coloma, we aim to provide as much information as possible about both the application process and Sixth Form life, so that you feel well-informed and supported in making your choice.

Who can apply?

We welcome applications from both:

  • Students currently studying at Coloma
  • Students joining us from other schools and college

What is the process?

Usually, a prospective student would:

  1. Apply online via Applicaa by the 3rd January 
  2. Invited in for a interview - February/March (for both Coloma students and Students from other schools)
  3. Conditional offers: April 
  4. GCSE’s - May/June
  5. Taster Day - 2nd July
  6. GCSE Results and Enrolment Day - 21st August

Enrolment takes place in August across GCSE Results Day and the following Friday and Tuesday, ensuring that all applicants who meet the entry requirements are able to enrol in order of preference.

There is a wide range of Sixth Form courses available in both A-Level and vocational qualifications that cover a broad range of academic, creative and vocational subjects in both an A-Level and vocational offering. Entry to Coloma Convent Sixth Form courses is subject to the Minimum Academic Entry criteria and a GCSE average point score (APS) as shown Course Minimum Academic.

Entry criteria

Your APS score is taken from your highest 8 grades and must include English and Maths. In addition, you must meet the subject specific entry criteria for your chosen courses.

NB:

  • Where a 5 in English Literature is used as the entry requirement for a subject the English Language Grade must be a minimum of a 4

  • Combined Science GCSEs: Please be aware that if you are studying Combined Science at GCSE, it is the full GCSE grade that is used for entry to the A Level, not the results from individual units/papers.

  • IGCSEs. If you are studying subjects such as IGCSE or other international qualifications not graded 9- 1, please contact us for a breakdown of our pathway and subject requirements.
