On Monday 18th September, our new Year 12 Politics and Law students visited the Houses of Parliament (joined by our more experienced Year 13 Politics students). The group had a tour around the estate, were able to stand (definitely not sit) in the House of Lords and the House of Commons before finishing in Westminster Hall. The class then had a workshop where they explored the passage of a bill and how Parliament scrutinises legislation before it becomes law. They finished with a debate on tuition fees before a short sightseeing tour of Downing Street and the Supreme Court.
